Would You Take It?
This is direct patient and family care — but it’s far from home. Would the cultural adventure and meaningful work outweigh the challenges of relocating overseas?

Small tip: ask if they use teach-back and give bilingual handouts so parents know who to call and what’s urgent. . I’d look for:. Caseload and visit type.

On a base program, our schedule blew up when two urgent parent calls hit during a home visit. a clear backup saved it.
Takeaway: I’d ask about on-call coverage, interpreter access, med reconciliation, documentation system, and escalation paths. Clarify caseload caps, visit length, orientation, supervision, and SOFA scope/liability. Is call truly 24/7?

I’d take it if they’re explicit on red‑flag escalation and protected time. From NICU, deterioration is quick. I’d want clear thresholds, visit buffers, and rapid handoff options. If central lines fall in scope, confirm a written checklist, supply access, line‑day tracking, and a single escalation contact. Do they use standardized templates?
