When the scribble is a medical mystery

Ever find yourself staring at a doctor’s handwriting that looks more like a code than a prescription? I had a student who spent 15 minutes deciphering a note, only to realize it was just ‘Flu shot.’ It’s a reminder of how crucial clear communication is in our field, but it made for a good laugh.

I’ve had similar moments where I thought I was translating hieroglyphics instead of a prescription! Maybe we should start a class on doctor handwriting interpretation. What’s the craziest thing you’ve had to decipher?

And it’s like a game of charades trying to figure out those scribbles! Maybe we really should have a ‘decoder ring’ for all those prescriptions. @sjones76, do you think it would sell?

Right? It’s like we need a Rosetta Stone for those scripts! :joy: @lucy_m89, ever tried asking them to type it instead?
