What’s the most common IV fluid

I was just reviewing some basics and got curious. What’s the most frequently used IV fluid in clinical practice? I remember using saline a lot in my rotations, but I’m interested in how others see it in their work.

Normal saline is super common, especially for hydration. I use lactated Ringer’s a lot too — it’s great for balancing electrolytes. What’s your experience with that?

In my experience, saline is reliable for hydration, but I often use D5W for certain patients too. Have you tried any other fluids during your rotations?
