Switched to a $12 clip-on headlamp on my badge for 02:00 pump checks — both hands free, no blinding anyone. Got through four 12s on one charge. Anyone have a favorite brand or a better low-light setup?
Petzl e+LITE clips to badge; red mode avoids wake-ups. Does yours have red?
@shift.mentor312 red mode’s clutch, but I put a tiny strip of Micropore over my badge light as a diffuser so I can run 1–5 lumens without hot spots — keeps vitals readable and patients asleep. Caveat: red hides skin tone/IV color, so I toggle to low white for checks. Does your headlamp have a true sub-5-lumen mode or a lockout so it doesn’t nuke the room at 2 a.m?
