The strangest thing I've seen in nursing

And i remember my first week on the floor, a patient insisted they had a pet tiger under their bed. It turned into a whole thing where we had to gently explain that was a hallucination, but it made for good stories later. What’s the wildest thing you’ve encountered?

I once had a patient convinced their IV pole was a spaceship! It’s funny how vivid those hallucinations can be. Ever had to chase imaginary creatures in your shifts?

I can totally relate — it’s wild how much imagination some patients have! I had a guy convinced his pillow was a talking parrot, and I had to play along to help calm him down. Have you ever had to deal with a particularly emotional patient in those situations?
