The mystery of paper straws

I just noticed how many places are switching to paper straws instead of plastic… Why do we do it that way when they get soggy so quickly? I’ve had drinks ruined because of it, and I can’t help but wonder if there’s a better alternative out there.

Isn’t it wild how paper straws feel like they’re winning the battle for the environment but end up losing in the drink department? I’ve heard some places are trying out reusable silicone straws instead, which might keep your drink intact. Have you tried any alternatives yet, or are you still on the soggy straw train?
