That moment when the toddler runs away

Isn’t it hilarious when you’re trying to give a child an assessment and they suddenly decide it’s the perfect time to become an Olympic sprinter? I had a 3-year-old bolt out of the exam room yesterday, straight into the waiting area, and I think I haven’t moved that fast since my college track days! Just another day in pediatrics, right?

Totally relate! I’ve found using a bubble machine can work wonders in redirecting their attention. But you gotta prepare for the inevitable bubble chaos — it’s worth it if it keeps them contained a bit longer.
