Quick hack for a wobbly desk

I folded two business cards and wedged them under the short legs before a 9am call, then wrapped a strip of painter’s tape to keep them from creeping — works, but looks janky. Got a sturdier, still-cheap shim trick that won’t slide when I mop?

I shaved a wine cork into a flat puck and superglued it to the short leg, then ran a thin bead of clear silicone around the bottom so it grips and won’t slide when I mop — cheap and way cleaner than the business cards + ‘painter’s tape’. If you want it removable, use museum putty under the cork instead of glue.

Cut a mousepad square for the short leg; a dab of ‘museum putty’ prevents mop slip.

Do a nickel-and-dime fix: stack a coin or two under the low foot, superglue them on, then add a thin ‘hot-glue skid pad’ to the bottom so it grips and won’t wander when you mop. If your floor’s super glossy, swap the hot glue for a smear of construction adhesive. Got a glue gun handy?
