Finding Work-Life Balance as a Nurse

I’ve been feeling the strain of long shifts lately and was wondering what tools or techniques others use to manage their work-life balance. I’d love to hear about any specific apps or routines that have helped you unwind after a tough day — it can be tough to shift gears sometimes, so any tips are appreciated.

I totally get what you mean about shifting gears — it’s like trying to turn a ship around in a bathtub! I try to set aside just 10 minutes to do some deep breathing and listen to a podcast after my shift. It helps to clear my mind, and I’ve found the app Headspace really useful for that.

After a long shift, I like to unwind by doing some light yoga and stretching at home. It helps me release tension and feel grounded, plus it’s a nice contrast to the chaos of the day. @isho611, have you tried any physical activities to help with the transition?
