Unpopular opinion: i skip fancy CE tracking apps and just keep one cloud folder per year, dumping every certificate and slide deck in there with a simple filename like 2025-03_WoundCareUpdate_Provider_credits.pdf. It’s faster. i can search by topic or provider on my phone during renewals, and if i get audited i export the folder list and it kinda reads like a report. Guardrail: if your board or employer mandates a specific system or preapproved providers, follow that and double-check your hours match what the certificate says. i also set a recurring quarterly calendar ping to update a plain spreadsheet (date, topic, provider, credits, link) and scan any paper certs with my phone so everything lands in the same place. Anyone hit snags doing it this way, or got a smarter lazy setup i should copy?
Same here. I do year folders and standardize filenames like 2025-03-14_WoundCareUpdate_3.0h_Provider.pdf. The only extra I’ve been is a tiny Google Sheet with date/provider/hours so I can total it fast at renewal. Do you bother tagging categories anywhere?
