Hey all, Taylor Brooks here. If you’re starting an NP program, build a simple study spine. - Lock the 3 Ps: patho and assessment two short sessions each week. pharm daily flashcards with Anki, tagged by class and black box warnings.

  • Map course tasks to NONPF competencies so each paper or SOAP note advances History, Diagnosis, Planning, and Ethics.
  • For clinicals, keep a tight SOAP template and a 3-5 item differential. write one evidence citation per plan.
  • Log encounters in Typhon at 10 pm with ICD-10, CPT, and a quick reflection tied to a competency.
  • OSCEs: rehearse 15-minute focused exam, SBAR handoff, and renal dosing checks. aim for clean hand hygiene and safe prescribing every time.
  • Certification: 12 weeks out, do 40 Q Mon-Fri and 100 Q on Saturday. review misses the same day. I set a 6 am 25-minute review block. I kept missing QT risks until I made a small card stack. What’s your current snag?
