Our partner SNF started scrambling this week to hit the new CMS minimums — 24/7 RN on-site and 3.48 HPRD — and they’re pulling from our per-diem pool. Quick hack we used to keep floors covered: opened weekend shifts 2 weeks earlier and added a same-day bump at 0700 — anyone else feeling this downstream, and what scrappy fixes are working on your units?
We got over the 24/7 hump by posting two 4-hour ‘RN bridge’ slots on nights (2300–0300 and 0300–0700) with a small completion bonus, which pulled in PICC/float folks without raiding day shift. It works, but you need tight handoff scripts at 0300 to avoid missed orders. Are you seeing the 0700 same-day bump blow up your labor budget, or is it offset by fewer agency hours?
