I used a Littmann Classic III throughout nursing school, and it’s been a game changer for understanding heart and lung sounds. It’s durable and has pretty great acoustic quality for the price, so it might be worth checking out. Just be careful with the earpieces; the softer ones can wear out faster, so I made sure to stock up on extra pairs.
You might want to check out the MDF Instruments stethoscopes. I found the sound quality really good for the price, and they’re pretty sturdy too, which is a big plus in clinicals. Remember, it’s all about how comfortable you feel with it since you’ll be using it a lot.
But i’ve really liked my 3M Littmann Lightweight II S.E. for clinicals. It’s budget-friendly and works well for a student nurse. Just keep in mind that while it’s great for basic sounds, if you start needing to hear more detailed nuances, you might want to think about saving up for a higher-end model later.
