I’m starting my clinical rotations next month, and I’m a bit anxious but also excited. I got a glimpse of different specialties in class, but I’m curious about what everyone else thinks really counts — like, which rotations provide the best learning experiences or job opportunities? I’d love some benchmarks based on your experiences.
Starting your clinical rotations can feel daunting, but one thing that helped me was embracing each rotation fully, even the ones I didn’t think I’d enjoy. For instance, my experience in geriatrics turned out to be surprisingly rewarding and opened up some job opportunities I hadn’t considered before. Have you thought about which specialties you’re most drawn to, or are you keeping an open mind for now?
You’re in for a ride! I found that my Med-Surg rotation was one of the best for building confidence and skills, even if it felt overwhelming at times. It’s like learning to ride a bike; you might wobble a lot at first, but soon it’ll feel like second nature.
